The world has surely change, from the first industrial revolution to the dot-com boom, many have been the events and factors that have given shape to the economy of today. Now-a-days is all about information and knowledge, but there is one factor that can be pinpointed as the common denominator from all these eras or events, and that is innovation. It has been present in the old agrarian economies, through the industrial revolutions and it is the most important asset of the information era. Innovations have been, are and will be the most important factor for economic growth. The economic models and literature supporting this claim cannot be detracted. This is an issue that all the major economies in the world have realized and have or are in the process of adapting their policy efforts towards the improvement of all the factors that are participants of the innovation game. This would allow them to incorporate themselves into the Knowledge Economy. The book -based on the innovation theories of Schumpeter and its contemporaries- tries to answer the following question: Is the ICT / IT industry the main factor for the growth of the German economy?
