The problem of right of women has attracted global concern over the years. This book therefore focuses on the issue of protection of rights of women in Nigeria. It centers on the various forms of discrimination suffered by women in Nigeria sometimes for the reason of being women and at another time due to wrongful perceptions of the society as belonging to a subordinate class. The book examines the gap between legal protection of the right of women and the reality of discrimination, subjugation and exploitation experienced by women in Nigeria. It therefore shows disconnect between the laws relating to the rights of women in Nigeria and their implementations in practical terms. Nimah Modupe Abdulraheem holds Bachelor of Laws from Bayero University, Kano; Master of Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Ph.D. in Law from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria.
