This book is based on a study that sought to assess teachers´ participation in P.E programmes in public primary schools in Westlands division, Nairobi province, Kenya. The aim of the study was to examine how factors such as teachers´ demographic data, P.E resources, incentives and support system influence teachers´ participation in P.E programmes. The study also aimed at investigating strategies used by teachers to plan, evaluate and implement P.E programmes in Kenyan primary schools. It was established that teachers´ participation in P.E programme was affected by various factors which included: teachers´ personal characteristics, government policies, quality and availability of resources. The study recommended that the government increase funds disbursed for implementing games and sports related activities in primary schools. It was also recommended that stakeholders such as parents be involved actively in schools´ P.E programmes. To improve teachers´ participation in P.E programme, it was recommended that P.E subject be examined both internally and externally since currently the subject is only examined internally.
