Was spielen die da bloß? Tom wollte mit seinen neuen Freunden Tina und Selim zum Footballtraining. Aber hier auf dem Sportplatz wird Fußball gespielt. Enttäuscht lässt er sich auf den Rasen plumpsen. Damit schreckt er Maulwurf Gustav aus seiner Nachmittagsruhe. Dieser erkennt schnell das Problem: Tom hat Fußball mit Football verwechselt.
Der fußballbegeisterte Gustav erzählt ihm nun alles über die Ausrüstung, das Spielfeld, den Spielablauf und die Fußballregeln sowie über Fußballtechnik und die Positionen der Spieler. Anschließend erklärt Tom dem interessierten Maulwurf das Wichtigste zu American Football und Flag-Football: Offense, Defense, Tackling und Touchdown da gibt es viele Unterschiede zum Fußball.
Ob Tom wohl beim Fußballtraining mitmachen oder einen passenden Footballverein finden wird?
What on earth are they playing there? Tom wanted to go to football training with his new friends Tina and Selim. But they are playing soccer on the pitch here. Tom flops disappointedly onto the grass, and disturbs Gustav the mole s midday nap. Gustav quickly recognises the problem; Tom thought Fußball was the same as American football.
Gustav, who is a great soccer fan, tells Tom all about the equipment, the soccer pitch, the rules and how the game is played, also the techniques involved and the positions of the players. Then Tom explains the most important aspects of American Football and Flag-Football: offence, defence, tackling and touch-downs to the interested mole. There are many differences between soccer and American Football.
