Multiple activities taking place at the landscape scale is indepensible to nature protection reqiring a system modelling approach of multi-agents on the landscale scale. This book presents results of a doctorate research of the first attempt on the use of Petri nets to modell and simulute ecosytem services unsing a system modelling approach of multi-agents at the landscape scale. It provides an estimation, management scheme and community-based financial participation models with Petri nets and coupled them as a unified Petri net for management support systems for preserving ecosystem services at the landscpe scale. A real scenario application at the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Spreewald is given. Community-based financial participation is also developed within the framework of the research as a new concept for encouraging community-based participation and funding in developmental initials to enhance sustainability in the society.
