This book is a collection of four essays. All except the final essay was written whilst I was a graduate History student at the University of Guelph in Canada. The research fields include politics, religion and medicine in diverse areas as Germany, England, Canada and the Caribbean. This book would be useful for persons researching specific topics as religion in 17th century England, professionalization of medicine in a Canadian province, Otto von Bismarck s influence on politics in Germany and progress in the modern Caribbean.

Jerome Teelucksingh is a Lecturer in History at the Trinidad and Tobago campus of the University of the West Indies. His qualifications include the B.A (University of the West Indies); M.A ( University of Guelph , Canada ); and the PhD (University of the West Indies ).
