Die Anaphora der Apostel Addai und Mari - Ursache für eine Neuausrichtung der katholischen Eucharistielehre?

Am 17. Januar 2001 erkannte die Kongregation für die Glaubenslehre der Katholischen Kirche die Liturgie der Apostel Addai und Mari der Assyrischen Kirche des Ostens auch ohne wörtlichen Einsetzungsbericht als gültige Eucharistiefeier an - eine theologische Sensation. Theologisch, pastoral und ökumenisch schien ein entscheidender Durchbruch gelungen zu sein. Dennoch begann eine heftige wissenschaftliche Debatte, denn betroffen war das innerste Wesen der katholischen Sakramententheologie, die Frage nach den Einsetzungsworten als forma sacramenti der Eucharistie. Wenn also in der Anaphora der Apostel Addai und Mari nicht die wörtliche Zitierung der Worte Jesu als forma sacramenti dient, legt das die Frage nahe, ob diese Entscheidung nicht eine generelle Neuausrichtung in der katholischen Eucharistielehre bedeutet. Der Autor würdigt die Entscheidung Roms theologisch fundiert und zeigt auf, welche Auswirkungen sie auf die gesamte Kirche haben kann.

On January 17th, 2001, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Catholic Church recognised the liturgy of the Apostles Addai and Mari of the Assyrian Church of the East without the Words of Institution as a valid celebration of the Eucharist. This was a theological sensation, and in theological, pastoral and ecumenical terms seemed to be a breakthrough. Nevertheless, it sparked a heated debate, as it affected the innermost essence of catholic sacramental theology the question of the Words of Institution as the sacramental form of the Eucharist. The non-inclusion of the Words of Institution as the sacramental form in the Anaphora of Addai and Mari thus raises the question whether this decision does not signify a general reorientation of the Catholic eucharistic doctrine. The author acknowledges Rome s decision as theologically well-founded and shows what effect it might have on the Church as a whole.
