The breadth of this book is such that it cannot be considered simply as a ´discipline´ while it is at the same time multifaceted and heterogeneous to be defined as a method. Essentially, this book applies a multidisciplinary science whose precise methodological characteristics necessarily vary from field to field. This book is united by a common focus and thrust which is the use of the semiotic tool for the better understanding of the aesthetic, cognitive and epistemic aspects of Wole Soyinka´s Kongi´s Harvest,Femi Osofisan´s Morountodun, Zulu Sofola´s The Sweet Trap, Ola Rotimi´s The Gods Are Not to Blame, John Pepper Clark´s Song of a Goat, and Olu Obafemi´s Suicide Syndrome.
