Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) is one of the most used controlled radical polymerization techniques now a day. This book successfully demonstrated the use of ATRP to prepare in situ tailor-made polymer nanocomposite, random & block copolymer, block copolymer nanocomposite from nanoclay surface, brush like graft copolymer and graft copolymer of high surface energy. It had been observed that the living nature of ATRP was preserved in all above cases. 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA) had been chosen as the base monomer for all these purposes. Being a low Tg (-65 °C) material, poly(2-ethylhexyl acrylate) (PEHA) has very good film forming property for which it is used in paints, adhesives and coating applications.
Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Haloi is currently working as a Research Associate at Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He received his MTech in Rubber Technology and PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has published several research papers in peer reviewed international journal.
