Dem Berliner Fotografen Ken Schluchtmann (geb. 1970) ist es gelungen, für seine Aufnahmen eine unverwechselbare Bildsprache zu schaffen: Klar und kühl wirken seine Arbeiten, dabei präsentiert er seine Objekte sinnlich, ohne zusätzliches künstliches Licht, in der Dämmerung oder bei bedecktem Himmel. Auf dem World Architecture Festival in Singapur wurde er 2012 und 2013 jeweils als Architekturfotograf des Jahres ausgezeichnet. Für das freie Fotoprojekt in diesem Band legte Schluchtmann mehr als 20 000 Kilometer zurück: Er inszenierte vor dramatischer Landschaftskulisse die imposanten Bauten, die in den letzten Jahren im Auftrag der Regierung entlang der Nationalstraßen Norwegens entstanden sind: von der Wildbeobachtungsstation im Dovre-Nationalpark des Architektenteams Sn›hetta über Reiulf Ramstads schwindelerregende Aussichtsterrassen an den Trollstigen bis hin zum Steilneset Memorial von Peter Zumthor und Louise Bourgeois, das der Hexenverbrennungen von Vard› gedenkt.

Clear and cool, his im ages are taken without the use of artificial lighting at dusk or beneath a cloudy sky lending his subject matter a sensual quality. The World Architecture Fes tival in Singapore recognized his outstanding work, naming him the architecture photographer of the year in 2012 and 2013. To produce the photographs for this book, an independent project, Schluchtmann traveled over twenty thousand kilometers, passing through dramatic landscapes and profiling the inno vative architecture projects commissioned by the Norwegian government in recent years along the country s National Tourist Route: from the wildlife ob servation station at Dovre National Park designed by Sn›hetta to the dizzying views provided by Reiulf Ramstad´s terraces at Trollstigen, and the Steilneset Memorial by Peter Zumthor and Louise Bourgeois, which commemorates the victims of seven teenth-century witch trials.
