This handbook brings together the top international sales law scholars from twenty-three countries to review the Convention on Contracts for International Sale of Goods (CISG) and its role in the unification of global sales law. To this extent, it provides a systematic and practice-oriented analysis of the rules, subject-matter and terminology. It is suitable for academia, practitioners and advanced students allowing for a comprehensive and profound overview of the relevant international and national provisions also considering practical issues and soft-law. In particular, the international and comparative approach can be seen by taking into account the rules on International Sale of Goods (CISG), Principles of European Private Law (PECL), Principles of International Commercial Contracts (UNIDROIT) and the proposal of a Common European Sales Law. Moreover, it provides an overview of the differences of sales law in common and civil law as well as between several major legal systems.
