In this book the implementation of a natural language processing tool using the Stanford CoreNLP framework is described. With today´s rising demand for natural language processing capability in consumer electronics, this book shows how industrial diagnosis applications can also benefit from language processing. Based on a cognitive architecture for cyber-physical systems, three main points are shown. Firstly, how language in the industrial context is parsed using techniques such as part-of-speech tagging, regular expressions, and classification. Secondly, how the information contained in a natural language text can be represented in semantic frames by using slots in order to formalise it. Thirdly, the design of the user interface and its use on a demonstration platform to present and validate results.

After his apprenticeship as system informatics technician, the authorworked in software quality insurance.
