Aquaculture means the propagation, rearing, enhancement and harvest of aquatic organisms in controlled or selected environments conducted in marine, estuarine, brackish or fresh water. Aquaculture is defined in the Fisheries Act, 1994 as the cultivation of fisheries resources for sale. Hence, according to common definition. Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organism such as fish, shell fish and even plants. The term aquaculture refers to the cultivation of both marine and fresh water species and can range from land based to open ocean production. Pisciculture is defined as breeding, hatching and rearing of fish under controlled conditions. Women Self-Help Group (WSHG): A WSHG is a group of about 10-20 people from a homogeneous class of women, who come together for addressing their common problems.
Dr Ranjan Kumar Sahoo, Asst. Prof. Dept of Statistics, successfully guided seven M.Phil. students and one Ph.D. student achieved their degrees. Adding to my credit I have four books of national publication & one international publication. Besides these I have presented dozen of papers in National & couple of papers in International conferences.
