Pre-hypertension has been a precursor of hypertension but his new risk for major cardiovascular diseases was not well-known and paid attention. This research study was conducted in one of the West African countries, Burkina Faso to depict statistically, not only the prevalence for pre-hypertensive levels but also the risk factors for pre-hypertensive SBP/DBP events among adults. Guided by Neuman Systems Model on adult system, data were collected by using WHO STEPS, Spiritual Well-Being Scale, and Perceived Stress Scale including blood pressure measurements and lipids profile tests. Robust statistical inferential such as Multiple Logistic Regressions and Structural Equation Modeling technique were used to analyze data. The results were presented with causal modeling analysis which demonstrates the variance in pre-hypertensive event explained by sociocultural, Spiritual/religious well-being, psychological, and physiological factors. The findings provide rich and significant outcomes for the professional researchers (physicians and nurses) in the field of cardiovascular diseases.
Pre-hypertension is a pre-sign of the regression of your cardiovascular system due to several risk factors. However, in the industry of healthcare system, none of providers take time to point out the danger of this pre-hypertension in adulthood. Adults with high pre-hypertension are more likely to develop a stroke, heart attack, coronary diseases.
