Die Künstler Efrat Natan und Nahum Tevet (geb. 1947 und 1946) verbindet eine lange Künstlerfreundschaft. Beide begannen ihre Karrieren in den 1970er-Jahren in Israel und sind heute wichtige Figuren der dortigen Kunstlandschaft. Während Natan sich in einer poetischen Formensprache mit ihrer Kindheit im Kibbuz auseinandersetzt, entwickelt Tevet monumentale Rauminstallationen, die Erfahrungen von Raum, Begrenzung, Farbe und Form untersuchen. Das Museum Villa Stuck zeigt als erste Institution beide Künstler in einer Gegenüberstellung. In der Ausstellung und im Katalog werden Frühwerke und Dokumente von gemeinsamen Aktionen zusammen mit späteren Arbeiten Natans und Tevets präsentiert. Profunde Essays und ein Gespräch der Kuratorin Verena Hein mit den beiden Künstlern geben einen tiefgehenden Einblick in deren Oeuvres.

A long friendship links artists Efrat Natan and Nahum Tevet ( 1947 and 1946). Both began their careers in Israel in the 1970s and both are now prominent figures in the art scene there. While Natan uses a poetic, formal vocabulary to examine her childhood in a kibbutz, Tevet develops monumental, three-dimensional installations that investigate experiences of space, limitations, color, and form.The Museum Villa Stuck is the first institution to present a juxtaposition of the two artists work. Both the catalogue and exhibition feature early works and documents of actions performed together, along with more recent works by Natan and Tevet.
