The Mindhunters release prisoners from the shackles of othersī dreams.
Praise for Mighty Star

"A. Degen is one of the smartest and funniest cartoonists in the game. Every page in the book is filled with about two dozen triumphs and upsets in humor, design, pacing . . . A real pleasure to pore over." - Michael DeForge, author of "A Body Beneath" (Koyama Press, 2014), "Ant Colony" (Drawn and Quarterly, 2013), and many more

"This is a comic that begs for rereading. Gorgeous inked panels are filled to the brim with art and, aside from introductory character pages, are devoid of words." - Allyce Amidon, Foreword Reviews

"Another thing I really love about a lot (maybe most, maybe all,) of ADīs work: the lack of dialogue. Heīs so skilled at symbolism and clear cartooning that speech would be superfluous, and I love that I feel compelled to sit up and pay attention to every minor (inevitably significant) detail...Mighty Star is a great example of why I always leap to read whatever AD posts - I know itīll be brilliant." - Zainab Akhtar, Comics & Cola

"Humour and imagination come together to make cotton candy for the eyes. I am seldom let down by an A. Degen book." - Caleb Orecchio, Comics Workbook

Though Alex Degenīs comics are crowded with weird superheroes, poorly wrapped mummies and giant self-improving automatons-as well as lots of statues, which are often smashed to pieces-piles of dead bodies appear, too, sometimes covered in blood, and serve as a reminder for parts of Dargerīs work." - Oliver Ristau, The Comics Journal

"Fast and frenetic and at times frazzled, to be sure, this is a īrompī in the truest sense, every page promising delights, delusions, and dementias hitherto unforeseen-and, crucially, delivering on those promises, plus interest." - Ryan C.īs Four Color Apocalypse

"The comic book is kind of a retelling of Platoīs cave allegory, albeit with more lasers and space travel and smiling butterfly cops." - Isabel Ochoa Gold, The Paris Review

"Fast and frenetic and at times frazzled, to be sure, this is a īrompī in the truest sense, every page promising delights, delusions, and dementias hitherto unforeseen-and, crucially, delivering on those promises, plus interest." - Ryan Carey, Daily Grindhouse

"The ideaspeed of the book is pretty insane, but I remember being struck by the elegiac tone...Truly an experience." - Sarah Horrocks

"In turns funny, dramatic, mysterious and incomprehensible, Soft X-Ray / Mindhunters is Degenīs most ambitious book to date and a comic that I fully recommend." - Josh Hicks, Your Chicken Enemy
