The study will help in promoting health education and health promotion activities to improve healthy behaviors and management of drinking water for consumption. The community can be involved with participatory activities such as sanitary inspection. It is advisable that water is retested after treatment to determine whether the treatment was effective. Samples from the source and the household will be tested to determine whether contamination occurs primarily at the source or within household. This will allow evaluation of the need for investments in supply improvement or education of good hygiene practices for house hold treatment and safe storage. Introductions of household testing may be useful to evaluate the impact of a specific hygiene education programme although might be expensive for government to implement. How water is handled during storage in households may be vulnerable to contamination and sampling of household stored water is of paramount importance.
