Loss of biodiversity is one of the deepest concerns in today´s world. Among others, birds are considered as good biodiversity indicators, which makes it possible to use bird monitoring data to track changes in biodiversity over a period. This book is based on a postgraduate research conducted at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. The research analysed bird monitoring data from Quillow catchment, north-east Germany, to detect any change in biodiversity between two observation periods. This book explains the research activities including creating a database application which facilitates the data analysis. This may greatly help students, teachers and researchers involved in similar studies. Plus, a novice programmer may find the book useful to write an application for his/her own specific needs.
