This book is an outcome of interdisciplinary research work on geomorphic mapping of Penner delta reveals the palaeo-courses, several sets of beach ridges indicating the earlier strandline positions, palaeo-mouths of the Penner river and the various stages in the growth of the delta in its evolution. The sedimentary environments which emphasis on delta evolution and their granulometric characteristics and heavy mineral study that is essential for identifying the provenance which supplies the sediment deposited in the Penner deltaic basin, East Coast of India. In the past few decades the traditional geomorphic approach for traditional way of mapping the landforms are less prioritized. The emerging new tools/techniques to help in better understanding the process oriented studies. The author has explained the methods incorporated in this study and outcome of his work compared with other delta studies carried out by earlier workers. There are numerous field photographs, clearly illustrated field survey drawings and the data presented in a number of tables. This book is going to useful for the researchers and also students who belong to Earth, Environment and Agricultural Sciences.
