Many countries in both the developed and developing world are affected by medicine wastage which poses a significant health problem and endangers human life and health, results in the non-optimal utilization of resources and causes considerable loss of money. In Ethiopia, although there are reports that reveal the presence of wasted medicines in the country, there is lack of objective evidence on the extent and type of medicines waste as well as its contributing factors. In this book we report on the extent of medicines wastage; frequently wasted medicines and its underlying causes. This helps policy makers to make informed decisions so as to reduce wastage of medicines and to promote appropriate utilization of finite resources. The book also should be of interest to students and researchers in the area of Pharmaceutical supply management of this reputable and preferable book.

Gebremariam, Esayas
I completed my undergraduate studies from the University of Gondar, with B.Pharm in 2009 & my graduate studies with MSc in Pharmacoepidemiology and Social Pharmacy at Addis Ababa University in 2017. Currently I am working as a lecturer and researcher in Pharmacy department, Ambo University. I have authored/co-authored more than 12 publications.
